George Lykos (1911-)

George Lykos was born in Boston on March 9, 1911. He secured his Bachelor’s of Architecture in 1935 and his Masters in 1936 both from MIT. Following graduation he served a fellowship travelling Europe (1936). He and Sidney Ingram Goldhammer organized the firm Lykos & Goldhammer Architecture & Engineering in 1942 and joined the San Diego Chapter of the AIA in 1947. As the firm grew they left their Spreckels Building offices to 566 Mission Valley Center West.
