Garrett Eckbo

Landscape Architect | 1910-2000

While Garrett Eckbo attended Cal and Harvard in the 1930s he was influenced by faculty members who inspired him to move beyond the formalized beaux-arts style that was popular at the time. In the mid-1940s he launched Eckbo, Royston & Williams – a firm that designed hundreds of projects including residential gardens, planned community developments, urban plazas, churches and college campuses.
