Harold Warren Levitt

Architect | 1921-2003

Widely known for designing homes for movie and music stars in Los Angeles, the location of Levitt's Jacobsen House (ca. 1958) in San Diego is still not known. His work in Pauma Valley has been well documented to date.

Harold Levitt was born in San Francisco on July 26, 1921 and secured a degree in graphic arts at Stanford University in 1943 as well as a degree in architecture at USC. Levitt served as a draftsman for Roland Coate, Architect & Associates (between 1945-52) and associate of architect Burton A. Schutt (between 1952-55) before launching Levitt, LeDuc & Farwell in 1955. Levitt's office with Ernest W. LeDuc was responsible for projects at the Pauma Valley Country Club in the 1960s.
