William Edwin Stimmel

William Stimmel served in the US Naval Reserve between 1944-46 prior to securing his BA in Architecture at USC in 1950. Prior to establishing Stimmel & Cobb (1960-64) in La Jolla with John Raymond Cobb, William was awarded for his role in a prefab home project credited to Welton, Becket & Associates and Victor Gruen & Associates.

William Stimmel was born in Los Angeles in 1923. He served in the US Naval Reserve as Lt. JG between 1944-46. Following two years at UCLA (1941-43), he secured his BA in Architecture at USC in 1950.

Prior to establishing Stimmel & Cobb with John Raymond Cobb, William was awarded for his role in a prefab home project credited to Welton, Becket & Associates and Victor Gruen & Associates.

Stimmel & Cobb (1960-64) operated from their office at 2136 Avenida de la Playa in La Jolla. While he also served as an editor in publishing the local design magazine OmniArt.
